Wallpaper - Spring Nectar V

Our Spring Nectar V wallpaper, created by Lisa Audit, captures a solitary hummingbird suspended mid-flight against a deep, dramatic black ground. What we particularly appreciate about this mural wallpaper is the delicate painted character of the plumage, where soft sage greens, silvery greys, and muted ochre tones blend into a subtle wash of deep plum along the throat. The high contrast between the detailed bird and the clean, dark background gives the motif a poised, graphic presence on the wall. Produced as a custom made-to-measure wallpaper, our PVC-free paper features a light, subtle physical structure that complements the painted appearance of the artwork.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working exceptionally well as a focused accent wall in a bedroom or a quiet study. Placing the mural on the wall behind a bed or a low console table allows the single hummingbird to command attention without overwhelming the space. Because the design relies on a striking contrast against a dark backdrop, giving it an uninterrupted wall area ensures the open composition feels balanced and intentional. In a dining room or an intimate living room, softer ambient lighting in the evening enhances the depth of the dark ground while accentuating the gentle highlights on the wings.

Styling it

To balance the strong visual contrast of the dark background, we suggest pairing this mural wallpaper with warm, understated furnishings that do not compete with the focal point.

• Introduce warm, natural wood furniture, such as medium oak or rich walnut, to bring warmth alongside the deep charcoal and black tones.
• Choose surrounding upholstery and textiles in soft, tactile fabrics like muted linen or brushed wool in off-white, oat, or heathered grey.
• Keep wall decor and accessories minimal on adjacent walls, allowing the solitary hummingbird motif to serve as the main visual anchor of the room.

Colour combinations

The motif itself combines a rich black ground with soft sage green, silvery grey, warm sandy undertones, and a touch of deep plum on the hummingbird's throat. When choosing paint colours and materials for adjacent walls and trim, we recommend echoing these softer interior tones. Muted olive or chalky sage brings out the delicate feather details, while warm stony whites and soft taupes provide a gentle, bright transition against the dark background. For a moodier, enveloping scheme, matching surrounding trim to a deep charcoal or soft black creates a seamless backdrop.
