Wallpaper - Crisp

Our Crisp wallpaper, created by Kate Jarvik Birch, brings a bold, painterly still life to the wall with vivid warmth and graphic clarity. The composition focuses on two whole apples alongside crisp sliced wedges, captured with expressive brushstrokes, rich red and amber tones, and luminous cool highlights across the surface and cast shadows. The painterly style gives our mural wallpapers an artistic presence with clear visual depth, making a confident statement on a focal wall. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made to measure to your exact dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We love seeing this design in spaces where food, conversation, and daily life come together. In a dining room or around a breakfast nook, the large-scale fruit motif brings warmth and visual energy to the wall without overwhelming the space. Because the artwork has a strong focal point and generous diagonal shadows, we recommend giving it an uninterrupted wall where the full painted composition can breathe, such as behind a dining table, along an open kitchen wall, or in a welcoming hallway. In an open-plan living area, it serves naturally as an accent wall mural that defines a specific eating or seating zone.

Styling it

Because the brushwork and colour contrast carry substantial visual presence, we suggest keeping the surrounding furniture relatively clean in silhouette. Simple painted dining chairs, mid-century modern shapes, or furniture in warm natural timber provide a grounded balance to the vivid composition.

To complement the artwork without competing with it, choose tableware and decorative accessories with clean lines, such as simple ceramics or clear glassware. For flooring, warm wooden floorboards or neutral stone work particularly well, allowing the rich reds and deep shadows of the wallpaper to remain the centre of attention.

Colour combinations

The motif features an expressive palette of deep crimson, warm terracotta, golden amber, and soft mint tones, contrasted against deep indigo and violet shadow hues.

When choosing paint colours and materials for adjacent walls and trim, we like pulling from the softer undertones within the artwork. A muted off-white or cream creates a fresh, bright frame around the wallpaper. For a moodier, more cohesive setting, picking up the deep slate or indigo tones from the cast shadows on adjacent baseboards or cabinetry creates a striking architectural effect.
