Wallpaper - Wishful Kitten I

Our Wishful Kitten I wallpaper mural, created by Yvette St. Amant, captures a charming painted dining scene full of personality and colour. A blue-eyed Siamese cat peers curiously over the edge of a table laid with a blue-and-white striped tablecloth, a plate featuring a bright red lobster, a fish-shaped platter of shrimp and lemon slices, and small sardines. Behind the wooden chair and trailing green vines, a warm patterned background in pink and ochre tones brings a painterly backdrop to the entire composition. Printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, our mural wallpapers bring an expressive illustrative touch to the home.

In the room

This wall mural naturally draws attention and creates an immediate focal point, making it especially well suited to dining areas, breakfast nooks, kitchens, or open-plan living spaces where food and gathering are central. Because the artwork features a complete figurative scene with distinct vertical and horizontal elements, we recommend placing it on a prominent, relatively uninterrupted wall where the full composition can be enjoyed without tall cabinets or bulky furniture blocking the cat and table setting.

Styling it

The playful coastal and Mediterranean aesthetic of this design makes it wonderfully versatile to style. We suggest echoing the warm, rustic dining atmosphere with simple wooden furniture in light or mid-toned finishes that reflect the chair in the artwork. Surrounding the wall with crisp white ceramics, blue-and-white tableware, or terracotta accents will pick up on the vibrant palette without competing with the lively illustration.

Colour combinations

The design is built around a lively palette of cobalt and sky blue, vibrant lobster red, sunny yellow, warm ochre, and soft pink, grounded by the creamy beige and dark points of the Siamese kitten. For adjacent walls, a soft warm white or muted cream keeps the room feeling airy and lets the mural take centre stage. If you prefer a richer, more cohesive look, echoing the soft pink background or picking up a warm sun-drenched ochre on surrounding trim or cabinetry creates a beautifully curated feel.
