Wallpaper - Eyes Are Watching I

Our Eyes Are Watching I wallpaper brings an intriguing surrealist character to the wall, combining vintage engraving details with a striking central motif. At the heart of the design, a detailed, vintage-toned blue eye gazes through an ornate circular medallion, surrounded by dense, flourishing acanthus scrollwork and delicate botanical engraving lines. The contrast between the monochrome, cross-hatched linework and the soft natural tones of the eye creates a theatrical, curiosity-cabinet atmosphere. Produced as made-to-measure wall murals on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design makes a confident statement in spaces where you want art to spark conversation.

In the room

We see this design working exceptionally well as a focal feature wall in an entryway, powder room, study, or eclectic dining area. Because the motif is centered around an intense, detailed medallion, it commands immediate attention. Placing it on a wall where it can be seen straight on, such as above a console table in a hallway or behind a desk in a home office, allows the central eye to become a natural anchor for the room. In smaller, more intimate spaces, wrapping a compact nook or reading corner in our mural wallpapers can create an immersive, gallery-like atmosphere that feels both historic and delightfully unconventional.

Styling it

To complement the rich, graphic detail of this artwork, we recommend balancing the room with refined silhouettes and tactile interior finishes:

• Pair the wallpaper with dark-stained timber or antique walnut furniture to echo the classical woodcut aesthetic and deepen the historical mood.
• Introduce understated metallic accents, such as aged brass or antique bronze hardware and lighting, which pick up the warm undertones in the central medallion.
• Keep surrounding upholstery and fabrics relatively simple in texture, using matte linens or deep velvet in solid tones so the intricate engraving remains the star of the space.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is grounded in deep charcoal, soft sepia, and warm antique white, punctuated by the soft blue, peach, and hazel tones of the central iris. When planning adjacent walls, painted trim, or cabinetry, rich tones like deep slate, muted charcoal, or warm parchment create a seamless backdrop that lets the motif stand out. If you would like to draw out the color within the eye itself, muted slate blue, dusky teal, or soft clay on nearby decor will tie the whole room together effortlessly.
