Wallpaper - Volver I

Our Volver I wallpaper, created by June Erica Vess, brings together sweeping abstract shapes with a warm, painterly character. A dominant field of soft sunlit yellow anchors the composition, bordered by fluid contours in sage green, dusty pink, sky blue, and muted lilac. We particularly like how the visible brushwork and layered color transitions give the artwork an airy, expressive presence on a large scale. Produced as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design is simple to hang and creates an immediate artistic focal point.

In the room

Because of its expansive, flowing geometry, we see this design working especially well across a wide, uninterrupted living room wall or behind a low bed frame in a bedroom. The broad color planes and gentle curves need enough open wall area so the balance between the central yellow expanse and the surrounding cooler tones can be appreciated in full. In a light-filled dining space or a creative home office, the motif introduces visual energy without overwhelming the room, as the painted textures keep the overall feel soft and grounded.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we recommend keeping surrounding furniture silhouettes low and relatively quiet to let the sweeping shapes remain the primary visual statement. Smooth painted surfaces, rounded seating, or simple mid-century silhouettes in light woods balance the organic lines of the artwork without competing with them. For textiles, unpatterned fabrics in off-white, oatmeal, or soft grey help keep the space relaxed, allowing the distinct painted blocks of blue, blush, and olive to supply the room's accent colors.

Colour combinations

The palette inside our design pairs a large area of mellow, sunny yellow with accents of sage, soft sky blue, dusty blush pink, lilac, and pale cream. In the surrounding room, we would work with warm off-white or soft linen tones on adjoining walls and baseboards to maintain a bright, cohesive atmosphere. If you want to introduce deeper accents through decorative pieces or upholstery, picking up the muted olive green or slate blue found along the edges of the composition creates a balanced, intentional connection.
