Wallpaper - Feeling Dandy

Our Feeling Dandy wallpaper by Kate Jarvik Birch presents a striking still life composed with vibrant yellow dandelions resting in a clear glass jar. Set against a deep, moody navy backdrop and a cool teal surface, the painted-looking brushstrokes and warm ochre and orange highlights bring vivid energy and rich contrast to the wall. The bold, painterly composition gives the mural wallpaper an artistic presence that makes an immediate visual statement in both cozy nooks and open spaces. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is custom made-to-measure to fit your exact wall dimensions and is entirely PVC-free.

In the room

Because Feeling Dandy features a central focal composition with rich contrast, we see it working exceptionally well as a feature wall in a dining area, living room, or study. The strong interplay between the deep blue background and the luminous golden petals creates a grounding yet expressive atmosphere. Placing this wallpaper on a wall behind a dining table or a low credenza allows the full glass jar and blooming dandelions to remain visible without competition. In a compact reading corner or entryway, the painterly artwork envelops the space with an intimate, gallery-like character.

Styling it

We recommend letting this design lead the room by pairing it with clean-lined furniture and thoughtful material contrasts. Darker wood tones, such as walnut or smoked oak, echo the depth of the dark navy background while grounding the bright yellow tones. Simple ceramic decor or matte black metal accents provide a modern counterbalance to the painterly floral subject. To keep the focus on the artwork, select unpatterned upholstery in textured neutrals or soft blues that complement the foreground without competing for attention.

Colour combinations

The palette within the design combines vivid dandelion yellow, warm marigold, and amber with cool teal, turquoise reflections, and an inky midnight blue. For surrounding walls and woodwork, a muted dark navy or slate blue creates a seamless, dramatic wraparound feel. If you prefer a lighter environment, an off-white with cool undertones or a soft duck-egg blue will balance the deep background while letting the golden flowers stand out cleanly.
