Wallpaper - Tiger Moth

Created by Kate Jarvik Birch, our Tiger Moth wallpaper mural places a bold, painted-style moth illustration against a chartreuse lime green backdrop. The insect motif showcases graphic forewings patterned in chocolate brown and cream, which open to reveal vivid orange hindwings dotted with deep blue-black spots. What we particularly like is how the central illustrative subject commands attention with its expressive brushwork and rich colour contrast. As with all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, making it straightforward to hang while creating an energetic visual statement in your interior.

In the room

Because of its strong focal motif and striking colour contrast, we see this mural wallpaper working especially well as an accent wall in a living room, creative home office, or dining space. Placing our design on a wide, uninterrupted wall allows the full scale of the moth illustration and its luminous green background to unfold without disruption. In an entryway or hallway, it offers an immediate, graphic focal point that sets an expressive tone for the rest of the home.

In rooms with generous daylight, the bright chartreuse backdrop feels vibrant and expansive, while the intricate wing markings remain crisp and easy to distinguish. Under warmer evening lighting, the deep chocolate tones and fiery orange accents take on a cozier, richer presence, giving the space a completely different atmospheric balance.

Styling it

When styling around our Tiger Moth wall mural, we suggest balancing the expressive graphic motif with considered furniture shapes and grounded finishes:

• Pair the wallpaper with warm mid-toned or dark woods such as walnut or stained oak, which naturally echo the brown markings on the outer wings and anchor the brightness of the green background.
• Keep surrounding furniture profiles clean and architectural, allowing the painterly, organic shapes of the insect illustration to remain the primary decorative focus of the room.
• Introduce textiles in quiet, textured neutrals like woven linen or unbleached cotton to soften the room without competing with the bold central pattern.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper is built around a vivid palette of lime chartreuse, warm chocolate brown, cream, bold marigold orange, and deep ink blue. When choosing complementary shades for adjacent walls, trim, or larger decor, we recommend pulling directly from these core tones.

A muted cream, soft taupe, or deep espresso brown on surrounding surfaces creates a sophisticated frame that lets the mural stand out. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, an accent of dark navy or deep indigo blue in upholstery or cabinetry connects seamlessly with the spot details on the moth wings, tying the entire palette together.
