Wallpaper - Neutral Mist II

Created by June Erica Vess, our Neutral Mist II wallpaper brings a painterly, atmospheric wash of earth tones into the home. The composition features soft, watercolor-like layers that suggest a misty landscape or tree canopy dissolving into hazy sky. Muted shades of taupe, warm beige, charcoal, and subtle hints of mossy olive blend together with fluid, organic brushwork. This creates a gentle sense of depth that anchors a room without overwhelming it with sharp contrast. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your specific wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, and designed to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because the motif builds from deeper, grounded tones near the bottom into lighter, airy washes toward the top, we see this working particularly well across a wider uninterrupted wall in a living room or bedroom. Behind a bed or a low sofa, the darker foundation sits naturally along the furniture line, while the softer upper layers give the rest of the room a feeling of open vertical space. In a dining area or a dedicated home study, our wall murals offer an expressive backdrop that brings visual texture without creating visual clutter. Generous daylight highlights the subtle variations between the warm taupe and earthy brown washes, while lower evening light softens the edges and gives the whole wall an enveloping, grounded feel.

Styling it

To complement the organic, fluid character of the wallpaper, we would pair it with furniture that has clean, understated lines and warm material finishes.

• Choose furniture in warm woods such as oak or walnut to echo the deeper brown and taupe tones in the artwork while keeping the room feeling relaxed and natural.
• Incorporate textured textiles, such as woven wool rugs or simple linen drapery, in off-white, oat, or sand to harmonize with the pale washes at the top of the mural.
• Balance the soft watercolor aesthetic with understated matte black or antique bronze accents in lighting fixtures or side tables to introduce subtle structure.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design relies on a nuanced mix of warm beige, taupe, soft charcoal, and undertones of muted olive and ochre. When planning the rest of the room, we suggest pulling directly from these earthy neutrals. Adjacent walls painted in soft greige, stone, or warm alabaster will create a cohesive, wrap-around atmosphere that allows the wallpaper to serve as the visual centerpiece. If you prefer a richer, more cocooning interior, deep charcoal or warm espresso tones on woodwork and shelving will pull out the darker pigments anchored across the lower half of the design.
