Wallpaper - Song of Spring I

Our Song of Spring I wallpaper, created by Julia Purinton, presents a botanical composition featuring two songbirds resting among flowering blossom branches. Painted brushstrokes and a soft, warm neutral background give the piece an illustrative botanical character, where delicate white and pale pink blossoms balance deep green leaves and the vibrant yellow and slate-blue plumage of the birds. Produced as made-to-measure wallpaper on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings a serene, nature-inspired focal point to any interior wall.

In the room

We find that this wall mural works beautifully as a dedicated feature wall in spaces where you want a calm, organic focal point. In a bedroom or guest room, placing the design behind the bed frame creates an inviting backdrop that draws the eye without overwhelming the rest of the space. In a living room or study, giving the mural wallpaper an uninterrupted wall allows the branching composition and fine painted details of the blossom petals to be appreciated from across the room.

Styling it

Because the motif has an artistic, hand-painted aesthetic with defined brushwork, we like pairing it with simple, understated furnishings. Painted wooden furniture in soft off-whites, muted creams, or warm natural timber complements the organic warmth of the branches without competing for attention.

To keep the balance harmonious, we suggest choosing quiet textiles in smooth cotton or plain weave fabrics rather than strong geometric patterns. A few simple ceramic pieces or subtle brass accents on lighting fixtures will echo the warm tones in the birds and branches nicely.

Colour combinations

The design itself centers around a warm parchment background, soft white and blush pink blossoms, earthy browns, sage and forest greens, and bright accents of golden yellow and slate blue on the birds.

When choosing colors for adjoining walls, woodwork, or larger furnishings, we recommend pulling from the softer background tones. Muted cream, soft linen white, or pale biscuit shades create a seamless transition around the room. If you prefer a gentle contrast, a desaturated sage green or quiet slate grey on doors, skirting boards, or cabinetry ties directly back into the foliage and feather details.
