Wallpaper - Still Warm

Our Still Warm wallpaper, created by Kate Jarvik Birch, brings a painterly still life into large scale with an intimate, graphic presence. Centred on a porcelain teacup and saucer resting on a striped surface, the design captures amber tea tones, terracotta accents, crisp white highlights, and expressive cool blue shadows. Broad, visible brushstrokes and bold line work give the artwork an immediate, illustrative character that feels both contemporary and nostalgic. Made-to-measure and PVC-free on paper with a subtle physical structure, this design brings warmth and artistic personality to your walls.

In the room

We love how this piece works as an accent wall in spaces dedicated to gathering, conversation, or unwinding. In a dining area, kitchen nook, or breakfast room, the oversized still-life motif creates an inviting focal point without overwhelming the surrounding space. It also brings unexpected charm to a hallway or a cosy study, where the warm amber tones and graphic composition can be appreciated up close. Because the composition has a strong central subject and distinct painterly blocks of colour, we suggest placing it on a relatively open wall where the scale and brushwork have room to breathe.

Styling it

The distinct painterly quality and warm terracotta tones make this design easy to style alongside simple, grounded interior elements. We suggest pairing it with clean-lined furniture in warm wood tones or painted off-white finishes, allowing the artwork to remain the primary visual statement.

Textiles in natural textures, such as plain unbleached canvas or lightweight drapes, complement the relaxed studio feel of the motif. To echo the graphic character of the teacup, you can introduce small ceramic accents or simple vintage tabletop pieces that reflect the still-life subject matter.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper balances deep tea amber and terracotta red with soft peach, creamy white, and slate blue shadow tones. When selecting colours for adjacent walls, trim, or cabinetry, we recommend pulling from the softer background shades, such as warm off-white, light terracotta, or pale sand. For a bolder contrast, a muted slate blue or dusty charcoal on surrounding woodwork picks up the cast shadows within the artwork and frames the motif beautifully.
