Wallpaper - Silent Magic

Created in collaboration with Kate Jarvik Birch, our Silent Magic wallpaper presents an expressive portrait of a mythical unicorn against a deep, painterly dark background. The artwork captures the gentle presence of the creature through dynamic, visible brushstrokes in cool icy blues, crisp whites, and lavender hues, accented with warm ochre and golden highlights along the jawline and neck. The large-scale composition and bold contrast give this design a captivating visual presence, bringing an imaginative atmosphere into your interior. Made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions, this PVC-free wallpaper features a subtle physical paper structure and is straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because of its striking scale and dramatic dark backdrop, we see this wall mural working exceptionally well as a focal point. In a bedroom or guest room, placing the design on the wall behind the headboard creates an enchanting backdrop without overwhelming the entire space. It is equally suited to a creative home office, study, or reading nook where the contemplative mood of the portrait brings character to the room. In children's bedrooms or playrooms, the design adds a touch of storybook wonder while maintaining an artistic, sophisticated aesthetic. We recommend giving the unicorn portrait a relatively open wall where the head, spiral horn, and flowing mane can be viewed without being heavily obstructed by high furniture.

Styling it

To balance the deep background and expressive painted character of this mural wallpaper, we suggest keeping surrounding furnishings relatively clean and grounded. Simple furniture pieces in natural light wood tones, such as ash or birch, bring warmth to the space and echo the soft golden highlights in the artwork. If you prefer a moodier atmosphere, darker painted furniture in deep slate or midnight blue can blend gracefully into the wallpaper's shadows. Soft textiles in unpatterned cream, warm grey, or muted lavender help soften the room's palette while letting the focal wall carry the primary visual interest.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is built around a dark charcoal and navy ground, layered with cool tones of icy blue, sky blue, periwinkle, and chalky white, with subtle touches of ochre and soft blush in the ear and eye. When selecting paint colors for adjacent walls, a soft off-white or pale dove grey keeps the space feeling balanced and airy. For a cozier and more immersive feel, deep indigo, charcoal, or dusky slate blue on adjacent walls will seamlessly extend the atmospheric depth of the design.
