Wallpaper - Red Rocks Sketch

Our Red Rocks Sketch wallpaper, created by Krystal Adams, captures the expansive character of a canyon landscape through expressive, painterly brushwork. Earthy terracotta and rust rock formations rise against rolling hills of olive and sage green, set beneath an open sky of soft blue and textured white clouds. Ochre accents along the foreground ground the composition with warmth. As one of our wall murals designed to bring an artistic presence to a room, the motif is printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We love seeing this landscape on a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full horizon and sweeping rock structures can unfold naturally. In a living room or dining area, placing the mural behind a low sofa, sideboard, or dining table keeps the layered hills and sky open to view. The design also brings a grounded, scenic backdrop to a bedroom wall behind a bedhead or across a dedicated study wall. Because the painted composition carries depth and movement, it anchors the space without needing competing wall decorations around it.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest keeping the surrounding furniture quiet and letting the mural wallpapers define the visual energy of the room. Warm wood pieces in oak, ash, or mid-tone walnut harmonise naturally with the terracotta tones in the rocks. For upholstery and textiles, look to unpatterned weaves in sand, linen, or muted moss green to echo the natural foreground. Simple, clean-lined silhouettes work best here, allowing the expressive brushstrokes of the artwork to remain the central focus.

Colour combinations

Our design is built on a palette of burnt terracotta, deep rust, muted sage, olive green, dusty sky blue, and warm cream. To complement the mural on adjacent surfaces, we suggest soft warm whites, sandy beige, or gentle pebble grey on surrounding painted walls and woodwork. If you want a more cohesive, immersive feel, choosing a muted olive green or an earthy clay tone for trims and doors connects beautifully with the landscape's deeper pigments.
