Wallpaper - First Peony

Created by Krystal Adams, our First Peony wallpaper brings a painterly still life to the wall with expressive brushwork and rich floral depth. The composition focuses on a single blooming peony in deep crimson, berry, and rose tones, resting inside a glass jar on a soft blush pink ground. Visible brush marks, layered glazes, and textural highlights give the motif an artistic, hand-painted look that commands attention without overwhelming a room. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your exact wall dimensions and is entirely PVC-free.

In the room

Because the motif is designed as a singular, large-scale floral still life, we find it works best as a feature wall where the artwork can be appreciated in full. In a bedroom, placing this design behind the bed creates an inviting focal point, wrapping the space in warm, painterly tones. It also brings personality to an entryway, a quiet reading nook, or a dining area wall where the scale of the peony has room to breathe. The soft pink backdrop keeps the overall feeling open and balanced, while the deep berry petals add visual weight and warmth.

Styling it

We recommend keeping the surrounding furniture relatively understated to let the painterly character of the design lead the space. Simple silhouettes in warm wood tones, such as honey oak or walnut, complement the warmth of the floral palette naturally. For soft furnishings, choosing solid fabrics in muted blush, ivory, or deep wine echoes the tones of the artwork without introducing competing patterns.

Colour combinations

The design centres on rich crimson, wine, and dusty rose petals set against a delicate, warm blush background, grounded by muted green in the stem and soft lilac-grey shadows beneath the jar. When selecting wall paint or decor for adjacent surfaces, soft plaster pinks and creamy off-whites blend smoothly with the background. For a more dramatic contrast, pairing this wallpaper with deep berry accents or muted olive green highlights the natural tones of the flower and stem.
