Wallpaper - Whispers in Clay lI

Created by Nikita Jariwala, our Whispers in Clay II wallpaper brings a warm, painterly still life to the wall. The composition centres on a rounded turquoise vase patterned with soft white polka dots, holding arching trailing foliage with dark, textured leaves that spill gracefully downwards. Broad, expressive brushstrokes in warm terracotta and dusty clay form the surrounding space, giving the entire motif a hand-painted look with visible painterly movement. Produced made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, this mural wallpaper works wonderfully as an artistic focal point in a living room, dining area, or creative workspace.

In the room

We like this design best on an accent wall where the full still life can be appreciated without heavy visual interruption. Placed behind a low-backed dining bench, a living room console, or a bed with a minimal headboard, the central vase and weeping vine establish a calm, grounded presence. Because the artwork uses bold blocks of colour alongside delicate trailing stems, it holds its own on wider wall areas while bringing an inviting warmth to smaller, more intimate spaces like a quiet reading nook or study.

Styling it

The earthy terracotta base and cool turquoise ceramic tone create a natural starting point for surrounding furnishings:

• Pair with warm, natural wood furniture such as oak, beech, or teak to echo the grounded tones of the painted foreground.
• Introduce tactile accents like linen upholstery, woven wool cushions, or unglazed earthenware ceramics that complement the rustic, painterly character of the artwork.
• Balance the expressive painted surface with simple, unadorned architectural lighting in warm brass or muted matte finishes.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on rich terracotta, muted clay, soft dusty pinks, fresh pale turquoise, and dark charcoal greens in the leafy vines. When choosing paint or accents for adjacent walls and millwork, warm off-whites, soft biscuit tones, and sandy beiges harmonize effortlessly with the backdrop. For a more intentional, design-led scheme, picking up the soft mint-turquoise of the vase on painted trim or incorporating deep olive greens through textiles will draw out the individual details of the composition.
