Wallpaper - Love on the Plains

Our Love on the Plains wallpaper captures an intimate, quiet moment between two horses leaning together against an open landscape. Rendered in a warm sepia monochrome palette of soft taupe, muted cream, and deep espresso tones, this photographic mural brings a grounded, gentle presence to a room. What we particularly appreciate about this mural wallpaper is how the close composition and soft-focus background keep the attention centred on the connection between the two animals. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure, our wallpapers are designed to be straightforward to hang while creating an expressive focal point.

In the room

Because this design functions as a large photographic wall mural with a strong central subject, we would give it a wider, uninterrupted wall where the full intimacy of the composition can unfold without being cut off by doors or tall storage units. It works wonderfully as a feature wall behind a bed in a master bedroom or behind a sofa in a living room, where the horses' connection naturally anchors the seating or sleeping area. In a study or home office, placing this wallpaper along an open side wall adds warmth and visual depth without cluttering the visual environment with busy, repetitive pattern.

Styling it

The warm, earthy tones of this design lend themselves naturally to rustic, modern farmhouse, or relaxed contemporary interiors. We suggest pairing it with furniture made from warm natural woods, such as weathered oak or reclaimed pine, which echo the outdoor, equestrian feel of the imagery. To keep the focus on the wall mural, balance the room with simple, tactile textiles like unbleached linen or textured wool in soft ecru, avoiding competing pictorial prints on surrounding cushions or rugs.

Colour combinations

The palette in this wallpaper is built from rich espresso browns, warm sepia mid-tones, and soft creamy neutrals in the background. To create a cohesive look across the rest of the room, we recommend continuing those warm undertones onto adjacent painted walls with soft off-whites, warm oatmeals, or subtle taupe shades. If you prefer deeper contrast, dark charcoal brown or deep espresso trim can frame the mural cleanly, while softer, warm cream woodwork keeps the overall atmosphere light and gentle.
