Wallpaper - Fruita

Our Fruita wallpaper, created by Pamela Munger, brings together an expressive abstract landscape composition built from horizontal bands of muted color and painterly impasto textures. What we particularly like about this design is the calm balance between the cool, weathered blue-grey upper section and the warm earth tones below, where terracotta, ochre, and soft dusty blush meet thick, chalky white brushwork. The broad visual scale and atmospheric character make this mural wallpaper a distinctive centerpiece for contemporary homes. Like all Wallism wallpapers, it is custom made-to-measure, PVC-free, and printed on paper with a subtle physical structure that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because of the broad horizontal layering and expansive open composition, we see this wall mural working particularly well on a wide, uninterrupted wall in a living room, dining room, or bedroom. Placing the design behind a low-profile sofa or headboard allows the warm ground tones to anchor the room at eye level while the airy, painterly sky section rises toward the ceiling to keep the space feeling open. In a study or guest room, the design provides an artistic focal point that carries visual interest across a feature wall without overwhelming the surrounding space.

Styling it

We recommend pairing this wallpaper with furniture that shares its earthy, grounded character while keeping silhouettes simple and uncluttered.

• Choose low-profile furniture in natural mid-tone or warm woods to echo the ochre and terracotta strata near the base of the design.
• Incorporate smooth matte ceramics or stone decorative accents to contrast with the rich, visual brushstroke texture across the mural.
• Keep large surrounding upholstery and curtains in plain, unpatterned textures such as soft linen or woven wool so the artwork remains the primary visual statement.

Colour combinations

The palette within our Fruita design balances cool slate blue-grey, off-white, and warm terracotta with golden ochre and soft blush pink. When choosing colors for adjacent walls, trim, or large furniture, you can pull the cooler sky tones forward with pale slate greys and chalky off-whites for an airy, contemporary setting. Alternatively, you can lean into the warmer horizon tones by introducing terracotta, muted clay, or warm sand on surrounding surfaces, which creates an intimate and grounded atmosphere.
