Wallpaper - Whispers of Red Earth l

Created by Nikita Jariwala, our Whispers of Red Earth I wallpaper captures an expressive desert landscape through layered, painted brushwork and rich earthy tones. Broad strokes of terracotta, warm ochre, rust, deep umber, and muted sand create a panoramic view of sweeping hills and layered rock formations under an open, pale sky. The composition has an abstract, painterly character that brings depth and organic warmth to an interior. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of its horizontal sweep and layered landforms, we see this mural wallpaper working particularly well on a wide, uninterrupted accent wall where the full composition has space to unfold. In a living room behind a sofa or across a dining room wall, the warm terracotta and sandy layers anchor the lower half of the space while the pale upper tones keep the room feeling open. It also makes a grounded backdrop in a bedroom behind a headboard or in a quiet study, where the organic brushstrokes introduce visual texture without feeling chaotic.

Styling it

To complement the rich, natural palette of this design, we suggest pairing it with furniture and accents that share an earthy, tactile sensibility:

• Low-profile furniture in natural wood tones, such as white oak, ash, or warm walnut, keeps sightlines open and lets the landscape artwork remain the focal point.
• Textured upholstery and textiles in unbleached linen, boucle, or raw cotton balance the painted brushwork without introducing competing patterns.
• Warm terracotta ceramics, matte clay pottery, or blackened metal lighting fixtures echo the deepest rust and charcoal-brown tones in the hills.

Colour combinations

The design itself centers on warm earth pigments: terracotta, ochre, sandy beige, rust, and shadowy umber balanced by soft cream in the sky. For adjacent walls and trim, we like soft off-whites, warm greys, or muted sandstone shades that echo the sky tone and allow the mural to stand out naturally. If you want a more cocooning feel in a study or snug, deep rust, clay, or dark chocolate-brown on nearby woodwork can frame the wall mural beautifully.
