Wallpaper - Summer Poppies

Designed by Pamela Munger, our Summer Poppies wallpaper brings the expressive warmth of a sunlit garden indoors through fluid, painterly watercolor washes. Broad poppy blossoms in warm coral, peach, and soft terracotta mingle with muted lavender accents, pale olive foliage, and hints of sky blue against a soft, luminous ground. The layered translucent forms and loose brushstrokes give the motif a spontaneous, artistic feel that feels open rather than rigid. Printed as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, our design provides an inviting, expressive backdrop for living spaces.

In the room

We love how the generous scale of the floral blooms transforms a room into an uplifting, nature-inspired retreat. In a living room or primary bedroom, our Summer Poppies design works wonderfully on a wide, uninterrupted wall behind a sofa or low headboard, allowing the painterly transparency and varying petal shapes to unfold across the entire surface. Because the watercolor style uses soft, bled edges rather than harsh outlines, it introduces vibrant color without feeling overwhelming.

In a dining room or guest bedroom, the motif brings an inviting, conversational warmth that feels comfortable throughout the day. Soft natural daylight highlights the gentle color transitions between the coral red petals, dusty lilac blooms, and leafy olive washes, while warm lamplight in the evening deepens the terracotta and peach undertones.

Styling it

When styling around Summer Poppies, we suggest letting the wallpaper carry the decorative focus of the room while keeping larger furniture understated. Mid-toned or lighter natural wood pieces, such as a pale ash dining table, a light oak sideboard, or a low birch bed frame, balance the organic fluidity of the floral watercolor.

For textiles, simple woven cottons or unadorned fabrics in warm linen tones, oatmeal, or pale terracotta help anchor the room without competing with the painted blossoms. Keeping decorative accents minimal, such as simple ceramic vessels or quiet neutral pottery, allows the lively floral composition to remain the defining feature of your interior.

Colour combinations

Our Summer Poppies wallpaper features an expressive palette centered on coral red, peach, terracotta, soft lavender, dusty purple, sage green, and pale blue washes over a warm off-white ground.

When choosing paint colors for adjacent walls or trim, warm off-white or light parchment tones provide a clean, harmonious transition that echoes the background of the design. To pick up on the floral hues, you can introduce accents in dusty peach, warm terracotta, or muted sage through cushions, throws, or painted shelving. For a softer contrast, subtle lilac or dusty violet details in smaller decorative accessories tie directly into the secondary petals within the artwork.
