Wallpaper - Ruby Heart

Created by Yvette St. Amant, our Ruby Heart wallpaper centers on an ornate, sacred heart motif rendered in rich ruby red and warm antique gold. The central heart features delicate scrollwork, dotted details, and an ornate crown-like finial, set against a deep plum-eggplant backdrop patterned with subtle botanical vine flourishes. The composition brings a bold focal point together with decorative folk-inspired ornamentation, creating an expressive visual statement. As with all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure according to your specific wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

Because of its strong central motif and dramatic contrast, we see this design working best as a feature wall mural where the full sacred heart has room to anchor the space. In a bedroom, placing it directly behind the bed headboard creates an intimate and theatrical backdrop. It also works beautifully in an entryway or a dedicated reading nook, where a rich, atmospheric wall can instantly establish personality without needing to fill multiple walls.

For living spaces or dining areas, we would place this mural wallpaper on an uninterrupted wall rather than one broken up by large windows or heavy cabinetry, ensuring the ornate silhouette and deep background remain intact.

Styling it

To balance the richness of the deep red, gold, and dark plum backdrop, we suggest keeping surrounding furniture relatively streamlined and grounded:

• Darker wood tones such as walnut or stained vintage pieces complement the antique gold detailing and dramatic heritage mood.
• Warm brass, bronze, or antiqued metal lighting and hardware mirror the metallic-look gold scrollwork in the motif.
• Deep velvet upholstery or heavier woven textiles in wine, charcoal, or deep plum extend the moody atmosphere while letting the central heart remain the primary focus.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by vibrant ruby and crimson reds, warm antique gold, and an intensely dark plum background layered with muted charcoal-purple leaf motifs.

When choosing paint colors for adjacent walls or trim, we recommend deep aubergine, rich charcoal, or warm dark brown to create a cocooning, continuous room feel. If you prefer higher contrast, a warm muted cream or antique parchment on woodwork offers a classic framing effect that draws out the gold ornamentation.
