Wallpaper - Abstract Stems IV

Our Abstract Stems IV wallpaper, created by Cheryl Warrick, centers on a bold, stylized floral motif with an expressive pink bloom and curving green stems set against a dark grid backdrop. We particularly like the graphic balance between the lively organic curves of the foliage and the structured, geometric grid behind it. The flower features textured pink petals and a dotted center framed by a defined dark outline, giving the composition an illustrated, print-inspired feel. Printed as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpaper mural on paper with a subtle physical surface structure, this design brings strong visual personality and artistic character to an accent wall.

In the room

Because of the scale and bold graphic presence of the floral motif, we see this mural wallpaper working especially well on a dedicated feature wall where the entire composition can be appreciated. In a living room, placing it behind a sofa gives the space an immediate focal point, while in a bedroom, it creates an expressive backdrop behind the headboard. In a dining area or a creative home office, the interplay between the curving leaves and the dark grid helps define the zone without overwhelming the rest of the room. We recommend choosing a wall with minimal visual interruptions from tall cupboards or shelving so the curving lines and full bloom remain visible.

Styling it

To let the wallpaper take center stage, we would keep the surrounding furniture relatively streamlined and quiet in form. Mid-century modern or contemporary pieces with clean lines echo the graphic structure of the grid without competing with the organic movement of the flower.

For materials, warm mid-toned woods or simple painted finishes complement the earthy green tones of the leaves nicely. Pairing the design with understated upholstery and matte accents ensures the wall remains the primary visual statement in the room.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design revolves around clear, grounded contrasts: a vibrant rose pink and dot pattern in the blossom, rich olive and moss greens in the leafy stems, and a deep charcoal brown grid background.

When decorating the surrounding space, we recommend pulling from these core shades:

• Soft off-white or pale muted pink on adjacent walls to echo the flower petals while keeping the room feeling open.
• Deep charcoal or espresso tones on trim, baseboards, or shelving to extend the grounding presence of the dark background.
• Olive green or sage accents in upholstery, cushions, or painted cabinetry to create a subtle connection with the winding stems.
