Wallpaper - Push Pull IV

Created by June Erica Vess, our Push Pull IV wallpaper brings an expressive abstract composition to the wall through sweeping, layered brushstrokes. The design balances deep charcoal and slate tones with warm taupe, sand, and soft off-white, creating a strong sense of vertical and horizontal movement. Broad, dynamic gestures overlap to reveal painted-looking texture and visible brush marks, giving the motif an artistic, canvas-inspired character. Our wallpapers are made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of the bold, painterly scale and sweeping directional strokes, we see Push Pull IV working particularly well on a wider, relatively uninterrupted wall. In a living room behind a low-profile sofa, or across a main feature wall in a dining room, the large painted forms have ample space to unfold without feeling crowded. The design also creates a sophisticated focal point in a bedroom behind a headboard or along a dedicated accent wall in a study.

In spaces with generous natural daylight, the subtle tonal variations and dry-brushed details within the taupe and off-white sections become especially clear. Under softer evening light, the deeper charcoal and slate areas ground the room, creating an enveloping, gallery-like atmosphere.

Styling it

We recommend letting this expressive artwork lead the room while keeping surrounding elements clean-lined and understated. Contemporary furniture with architectural silhouettes or low profiles prevents visual competition with the bold brushwork.

In terms of materials, warm wood tones like walnut, oak, or ash harmonize naturally with the earthy taupe and sand pigments in the print. Matte black or muted bronze accents can echo the deeper charcoal strokes, while unpatterned upholstery in cream, oatmeal, or textured grey maintains visual balance across the wider space.

Colour combinations

The palette in Push Pull IV is built on deep charcoal, slate grey, warm taupe, sand beige, and creamy off-white.

When choosing surrounding paint shades or furnishings, soft stone, warm greige, or muted off-white walls provide a clean, seamless transition that keeps the room light. For a moodier, more tailored look, pairing the design with charcoal trim or dark cabinetry creates a cohesive and striking frame around the wall mural.
