Wallpaper - Woodland Badger

Our Woodland Badger wallpaper, created by June Erica Vess, presents an expressive close-up portrait of a badger against a soft pink backdrop. Broad, visible brushwork in shades of charcoal, off-white, and warm grey gives the animal portrait an immediate artistic presence. We particularly like how the bold black-and-white facial markings create a strong focal point while the textured pastel background softens the overall contrast. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of the Badger portrait's bold scale and direct gaze, we see this wall mural working especially well on an accent wall in a nursery, children's bedroom, or playful living space. The large motif naturally commands attention, so giving it an open wall where the face remains unobstructed by high shelving or tall wardrobes allows the character of the artwork to shine. In smaller rooms or cozy reading nooks, having this mural wallpaper behind a low bench or bed creates an inviting, storybook feel without overwhelming the space.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we suggest keeping the surrounding furniture relatively grounded to balance the expressive portrait. Mid-toned or lighter woods work naturally with the earthy tones of the badger's coat, while clean-lined furniture prevents the room from feeling too busy.

For textiles, simple weaves in neutral oatmeal or gentle pinks create a cohesive setting that lets the central character remain the focal point. Soft ambient lighting also complements the painted brushwork, highlighting the contrast between the deep charcoal strokes and the light background.

Colour combinations

The design is built around clear charcoal and slate tones, creamy off-whites, and a warm dusty pink background. To build a balanced palette around the wallpaper, you can pick up the soft pink on adjacent walls or painted trim for a gentle, wraparound feel. Alternatively, pairing the mural with warm off-whites, chalky stone tones, or deeper charcoal accents on nearby shelving and frames brings out the rich contrast in the badger's features.
