Wallpaper - Winter Joy III

Designed by Cheryl Warrick, our Winter Joy III wallpaper brings festive warmth and graphic charm into the home through expressive typography. The design centres on the phrase "Joy to the world" in bold, playful lettering, where each character features its own distinct pattern, including stripes, polka dots, and subtle wave motifs. Rendered in a lively palette of berry red, rosy pink, moss green, and spruce teal against a speckled midnight background with delicate starbursts, it creates a cheerful festive focal point. Printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper, this design is simple to hang and adds an inviting seasonal statement.

In the room

Because of its strong graphic scale and bold lettering, we see this mural wallpaper working particularly well on a dedicated feature wall rather than wrapped around an entire room. In a living room or family room, placing the design behind a sofa or along a main entertaining wall allows the complete typographic composition to be appreciated at a glance. It also makes a memorable backdrop in a dining room, where the festive message naturally complements shared gatherings.

In smaller, more intimate areas such as an entryway, guest room, or playroom, the deep background grounds the space while the colourful lettering adds character. We recommend positioning the wallpaper on a wall with minimal tall furniture in front of it so the central text remains legible and open.

Styling it

When styling around this design, we prefer keeping large furniture relatively grounded so the vibrant lettering remains the hero of the room. Mid-toned wood furniture, such as a warm oak dining table or a clean-lined media console, creates a natural balance against the dark background. Sofas and armchairs upholstered in understated textured neutrals, like oatmeal, warm grey, or charcoal, allow the bright tones of the motif to pop without visual competition.

To complement the holiday feel without overwhelming the space, incorporate accents that echo the green and red tones from the letters. Soft velvet cushions in deep forest green, simple ceramic vases, or matte black lighting fixtures will tie the room together while letting the wall mural set a welcoming, celebratory mood.

Colour combinations

The motif combines deep midnight navy with festive pops of cranberry red, dusty rose pink, olive, sage, and spruce green, accented with crisp white starbursts.

For adjacent walls and painted trim, we suggest soft off-whites with warm undertones to prevent the space from feeling too stark. If you prefer a moodier, enveloping scheme, color-matching surrounding walls to the deep charcoal-navy of the background makes the colourful letters stand out dramatically. For soft furnishings, deep pine green, muted blush, or warm terracotta tones pull directly from the patterned letters to create a cohesive interior palette.
