Wallpaper - Ocean Hues II

Our Ocean Hues II wallpaper by Kathy Ferguson brings together horizontal bands of mixed-media collage, painterly textures, and graphic details. Layered strips feature playful polka dots, delicate linework, wash effects, and photographic foliage accents across a soothing palette of ocean blues, lavender, soft moss green, pale lime, and chalky white. The horizontal rhythm creates an engaging visual flow that stretches gently across the wall. Made to measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this mural wallpaper adds an artistic, contemporary statement to modern living spaces.

In the room

We love seeing this design on a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full length of the horizontal bands can unfold without interruption. In a living room or behind a low sofa, the layered collage structure creates an expansive, grounded feel that draws the eye across the space. It also works beautifully in a bedroom behind a headboard, offering a calm, creative backdrop that feels expressive without overwhelming the room. In a home office or creative studio, the mix of pattern fragments, painterly washes, and graphic markings provides visual interest that stays inspiring throughout the day.

Styling it

Because our design features a lively combination of patterns, stripes, and textures, we recommend pairing it with streamlined, understated furniture. Low-profile pieces in pale wood or muted neutral finishes help anchor the room while letting the wallpaper remain the focal point. To complement the cool and earthy tones in the motif, consider incorporating matte ceramics, woven textiles, or a simple wool rug in off-white or muted grey. Keeping large surrounding surfaces relatively quiet balances the artwork's playful collage elements and gives the room a refined, curated feel.

Colour combinations

The motif combines a distinct blend of deep ocean blues, soft sky tones, dusty lavender, muted greens, and pale neutral bands. When choosing paint for adjoining walls or surrounding woodwork, pulling out the softer chalky whites or pale grey-lavender shades creates a gentle, harmonious transition. For a slightly bolder contrast that echoes the deeper layers of the artwork, deep slate blue, petrol, or an earthy moss green on surrounding accents or upholstery adds rich depth and cohesion.
