Wallpaper - Muted

Our Muted wallpaper, created by Danhui Nai, brings an expansive landscape into the home with a painted-looking scenic composition. The design captures rolling hills, distant mountain ridges, and a quiet body of water framed by rocky shores and delicate tree branches. Rendered in soft earthy tones of warm beige, soft taupe, muted grey-green, and hazy sky tones, the low-contrast brushwork creates an open visual depth across the wall. Printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this mural wallpaper is straightforward to hang and adds a calm, scenic backdrop to your interior.

In the room

Because of its painterly landscape format and gentle horizon line, we see this design working especially well across a wider, uninterrupted wall in a living room, bedroom, or dining area. The horizontal sweep of the lake and surrounding mountains gives a room a sense of openness without overwhelming it with high visual contrast. In a living room, placing this wallpaper on the wall behind a sofa allows the soft hilltops and airy sky to remain clearly visible above the furniture line. In a bedroom, it creates a peaceful feature wall behind a low headboard, where the muted palette anchors the space with understated warmth.

Styling it

To complement the soft brushstrokes and natural palette of this wallpaper, we recommend keeping surrounding furniture simple and grounded. Low-profile seating and clean-lined storage pieces allow the panoramic composition to hold the visual focus in the room.

Pairing the design with natural wood furniture in light oak, birch, or soft walnut complements the earthy beige and taupe shades found across the landscape. For textiles, matte woven fabrics such as unbleached cotton, soft wool throws, or simple curtains in neutral tones echo the quiet texture of the painted motif.

Colour combinations

The palette within our wallpaper is built on muted beige, stone grey, dusty taupe, gentle sage greens, and soft hazy blues in the water reflections. To build a cohesive interior, we suggest pulling these earthy undertones onto surrounding surfaces. Walls finished in warm off-white, soft plaster tones, or pale greige will blend effortlessly with the sky and water areas of the design. If you prefer a richer contrast, deep olive green or warm charcoal accents on adjacent woodwork, shelving, or upholstered dining chairs will pick up the deeper shadows along the rocky shore and hillside foliage.
