Wallpaper - Red Rocks

Our Red Rocks wallpaper by Krystal Adams captures an expressive desert vista with a loose, painterly touch. Earthy terracotta formations rise against rolling grey-green hills, grounded by clusters of deep olive and sage vegetation along the foreground. Above the horizon, sweeping swirls of soft white and pale blue paint give the sky an open, breezy atmosphere with visible brushwork throughout. What we particularly like about this mural wallpaper is how the grounded rust tones balance the airy movement in the clouds. Like all our wall murals, this design is made to measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure that handles smoothly during installation.

In the room

We love seeing our Red Rocks design on a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full panorama can unfold across the room. In a living room or behind a dining table, the natural horizontal division between the earthy lower landscape and the open painted sky creates an anchoring effect without closing in the space. Because the upper two-thirds of the scenery is composed of light, swirling clouds, the motif feels expansive even in rooms with average ceiling heights.

In a bedroom, positioning the red canyon ridges behind a low headboard creates an inviting backdrop while keeping the visual weight low to the floor. The softer sage and muted hill tones bridge the gap between foreground warmth and the airy sky, making it equally fitting for a calm home office or a welcoming entryway wall.

Styling it

When styling around our Red Rocks wallpaper, we suggest leaning into natural finishes and relaxed silhouettes that complement its impressionistic landscape character:

• Choose warm, unpainted wood furniture in mid-toned oak, pine, or teak to echo the sun-warmed earth tones in the rock formations.
• Introduce unbleached linen or textured wool textiles in soft oatmeal and natural sand to balance the deeper olive scrub at the base of the scene.
• Bring in accents of matte terracotta, unglazed stoneware, or muted bronze hardware that subtly reflect the warm canyon palette without competing with the painted details.

Colour combinations

The palette in our Red Rocks design is built around a distinct balance of warm mineral earth tones and cool atmospheric shades. The terracotta, clay, and warm rust in the rock faces are tempered by dusty sage, deep olive green, and the soft grey-green of the distant hills. Overhead, creamy off-white and pale sky blue provide a cool, luminous counterpoint.

To build a cohesive room around this wallpaper, look to warm off-white or soft chalky creams for adjacent painted walls and woodwork, keeping the overall environment bright and open. If you want a more cocooning feel, a muted sage green or dusty clay paint on adjoining surfaces or cabinetry will pick up the landscape tones and ground the room beautifully.
