Wallpaper - Petal in Passing

Created by Nikita Jariwala, our Petal in Passing wallpaper captures graceful botanical vines wandering across a warm cream backdrop. Softly painted petals in subtle blush and pale sky tones drift alongside sweeping olive and forest green leaves, bringing a fluid, artistic rhythm to the wall. The open composition balances airy negative space with expressive brushwork, giving the floral motif a light, contemporary character. Like all our wallpapers, this design is custom made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, making it simple to install and tailor to your exact wall dimensions.

In the room

The open scale and sweeping vines of this design make it especially well suited to a bedroom or a quiet living room. Because the pattern has generous space between the stems, it brings movement to a larger uninterrupted wall without overwhelming the space. We also see this working beautifully in an entryway or a dining area, where the flowing horizontal and diagonal branches create an inviting sense of continuous motion. On a feature wall behind a bed or a low sofa, the upper blooms remain nicely visible and frame the furniture beneath.

Styling it

To complement the painterly character of this wallpaper, we would pair it with furniture that has clean, rounded silhouettes and soft tactile finishes. Light or warm wood furniture, such as honey-toned ash or light oak, harmonises naturally with the olive undertones in the foliage. For upholstery and soft furnishings, quiet textures in linen, boucle, or brushed cotton keep the atmosphere relaxed and let the mural wallpapers carry the decorative focus. Keeping surrounding accents relatively uncluttered allows the sweeping floral forms to breathe.

Colour combinations

The pattern features a gentle palette of warm cream, deep olive, forest green, soft blush pink, and delicate hints of pale blue. To build a cohesive room, you can draw from the creamy background colour for adjacent painted walls and woodwork, creating a unified and luminous envelope. If you prefer subtle contrast, pulling the muted olive or sage tones into curtains, rugs, or painted cabinetry will ground the room while echoing the botanical stems.
