Wallpaper - Climbing Ivy

Our Climbing Ivy wallpaper by Danhui Nai presents an elegant botanical study centered on a graceful trailing ivy branch. Rendered with the delicate precision of classic engraving and botanical illustration, the design features finely etched ivy leaves with subtle cross-hatching and clean white outlines against a warm, neutral background. The open composition gives the foliage space to breathe, creating a quiet, timeless rhythm across the wall. Printed made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings an organic, understated presence to any interior.

In the room

We love how this design balances botanical detail with generous negative space. Because the ivy motif is airy rather than dense, it works beautifully across larger uninterrupted walls in a living room, bedroom, or dining area without overwhelming the space. On an accent wall behind a low credenza, sofa, or bed frame, the sweeping branch creates an immediate focal point while leaving plenty of visual room around it. The calm neutral backdrop also makes it easy to integrate into quieter spaces like a home office or reading nook, where a restful, classic aesthetic feels right at home.

Styling it

The vintage botanical character of our design pairs naturally with traditional, cottage, and relaxed contemporary interiors. To complement the etched linework, we suggest styling with warm wood furniture, such as honey-toned oak or vintage walnut, which echoes the organic warmth of the background.

Keep surrounding upholstery and textiles relatively understated, choosing solid tones or subtle woven textures rather than competing patterns. A touch of aged brass or dark metal hardware provides a refined frame for the botanical illustration without detracting from its detailed linework.

Colour combinations

The motif itself relies on a sophisticated monochrome palette of charcoal and slate-grey linework layered over a soft, parchment-like warm neutral base.

To build a harmonious palette around the wallpaper, pair it with soft off-whites, warm creams, or gentle stone tones on adjacent walls and trim. If you want to introduce deeper contrasting elements into the room, forest greens, muted olive tones, or rich charcoal accents will naturally highlight the botanical theme and dark etchings of the leaves.
