Wallpaper - My Iceland Plot I

Our floral wallpaper by Shirley Novak captures a field of blooming Iceland poppies in a fluid, watercolor-like style. What we particularly like about this design is the balance between bold, saturated blooms in the foreground and softer, translucent blossoms receding into a warm, sunlit background. Vibrant tones of poppy red, coral, golden orange, and sunny yellow mingle alongside airy white and delicate lilac petals, all grounded by slender green stems and washed chartreuse tones. Printed made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings an open, expressive floral atmosphere directly to your wall.

In the room

Because the composition naturally rises from lower stems into an airy wash of blossoms across the upper half, we see this working well on a main living room wall, in a dining area, or behind a low bed frame in a bedroom. The horizontal spread of flowers creates visual rhythm across wider, uninterrupted wall areas where the full sweep of the field can be appreciated. In a hallway or entryway, the upward movement of the stems brings an inviting sense of nature indoors.

Styling it

To let the expressive color palette remain the central focal point, we would pair this wallpaper with simple, clean-lined furniture in warm wood tones or painted off-white finishes. Surrounding the wall with understated natural textures like woven linen cushions, simple ceramic vases, or light sheer curtains helps maintain an airy, relaxed interior without competing with the detailed watercolor brushwork.

Colour combinations

The design itself features vivid poppy reds, soft coral pinks, warm yellows, and creamy whites set against soft olive and wash-green backgrounds. When choosing paint for adjacent walls or trim, we suggest pulling from the softer background tones with gentle off-whites, warm alabaster, or muted olive green. If you prefer to accent the vibrant foreground blooms, small touches of terracotta, warm ochre, or coral through artwork and soft furnishings will echo the floral tones naturally.
