Wallpaper - Bedside

Our Bedside wallpaper, created by artist Kate Jarvik Birch, brings an intimate interior scene to life through rich brushwork and dramatic contrast. A glowing table lamp casts vibrant amber and orange light against deep teal blues and warm burgundy shadows, creating the atmosphere of a quiet, painterly evening. What we appreciate most about this design is how painterly composition transforms into expressive wall murals that add narrative character to a space. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your specific wall dimensions and is entirely PVC-free.

In the room

In a bedroom or guest room, we see this design working naturally on the main wall behind or beside the bed, where the painted scene echoes the purpose of the space. Because the composition features a strong focal point with the illuminated lamp and deep shadows, giving it a relatively open wall lets the artwork hold the room comfortably. The motif also translates well to a private study or reading room, where the interplay between warm lamplight and moody blues creates a focused, atmospheric backdrop for an accent wall.

Styling it

Because our mural wallpapers carry significant artistic detail and bold contrast, we suggest pairing this design with quiet, understated furniture. Simple silhouettes in darker wood tones or painted charcoal grey will sit naturally against the base of the wall without competing with the illustration. For surrounding textiles, choosing solid tones such as muted slate, warm ochre, or soft off-white helps echo the colours in the painting while keeping the overall room calm and balanced.

Colour combinations

The motif itself combines glowing amber, burnt orange, and deep plum with cool teals and soft slate blues. To build a cohesive room around this wallpaper, pairing adjacent walls with deep petrol blue or muted navy will deepen the moody evening feel of the interior. If you prefer a lighter surrounding space, soft buttermilk or warm linen tones on neighboring walls will draw out the radiant glow of the lampshade and bring warmth into the rest of the room.
