Wallpaper - Modern Petals I

Created by artist Cheryl Warrick, our Modern Petals I wallpaper brings an expressive botanical landscape into the home with bold shapes and painterly character. The composition gathers stylized blossoms, bell-shaped flowers, and soft foliage in vivid shades of fuchsia, coral, mustard yellow, warm peach, and cream against a rich cobalt and midnight blue ground. The dense, energetic arrangement of layered petals gives the motif a contemporary folk-art feeling with distinct graphic presence. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your exact wall dimensions and is entirely PVC-free.

In the room

Because of the rich contrast and generous floral scale, we see this design working beautifully as a focal point across an accent wall or wrapping a smaller space where you want immediate warmth and character. In a bedroom, placing this wall mural behind a low headboard lets the upper floral silhouettes and deep blue backdrop frame the bed naturally. It is also well suited to an entryway, hallway, or dining space where the rhythm of colourful blooms creates an inviting welcome without feeling overly formal. In living rooms with generous natural daylight, the subtler tonal shifts in the petals and leafy greens show up with exceptional clarity.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we suggest keeping the surrounding furniture silhouettes relatively clean and grounded so the floral shapes remain the focus.

Pieces in warm, natural wood tones such as mid-tone oak or warm walnut complement the earthy ochre and apricot elements in the pattern without competing for attention. For larger upholstered seating or bedding, solid neutral textiles in oatmeal, unbleached linen, or soft off-white help balance the lively palette on the wall. If you want to introduce subtle metallic accents in lighting or hardware, brushed brass and warm bronze tie in naturally with the golden yellow tones in the artwork.

Colour combinations

The motif itself features a vibrant palette of deep royal blue, cerise pink, muted brick red, warm ochre, soft peach, cream, and olive green.

For adjacent walls and painted millwork, you can lean into the lighter shades with soft off-white or creamy ivory to keep the room feeling open and light. If you prefer a moodier, more enveloping atmosphere, drawing from the background with a deep navy or rich midnight blue on neighbouring doors and trim creates a seamless, grounded look. Muted terracotta and warm sand also work well across cushions, throws, or ceramic accents to pick up the warmer floral accents in the print.
