Wallpaper - Bold Blooms

Our Bold Blooms wallpaper, created in collaboration with Pamela Munger, brings an expressive still-life floral arrangement directly onto the wall. Set against a deep, dark backdrop, the motif presents an oil-painted visual character with visible canvas-like texture and painterly brushstrokes. Soft lilac-pink, warm ochre-yellow, and crisp white petals emerge from a muted slate-blue vase resting on a neutral tabletop. This high-contrast composition gives the floral group a striking, painterly presence that creates an immediate focal point in a room. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

Because of the solid dark background and the centered arrangement of the floral motif, we see our Bold Blooms wall mural working especially well on an accent wall in a dining room, living room, or bedroom. Placing it on a primary feature wall, such as behind a dining table, behind a low-backed sofa, or behind a bed with a simple headboard, allows the complete bouquet composition to remain visible without being heavily obscured. In spaces with good natural light, the subtle nuances within the painted petals and the dark tones come through with clarity, while in softer evening lighting, the warm ochre and pink tones feel intimate and grounded.

Styling it

When styling around this mural wallpaper, we suggest letting the bold painterly artwork lead the room and keeping the surrounding furniture relatively quiet. Clean-lined furniture in darker or warm mid-toned wood anchors the deep background naturally without competing with the floral subject. For upholstered pieces, neutral, smooth fabrics in soft grey, warm linen, or muted charcoal provide a calm counterpoint to the oil-painted textures. Keeping decorative objects minimal and focused, such as a simple ceramic piece or understated table lamp, ensures the wall remains the central artistic statement.

Colour combinations

The motif itself combines a rich black background with soft lilac-pinks, rich ochre and mustard yellows, muted sage-olive greens, and a soft slate-blue vase resting on a grey-brown surface. When choosing colors for adjacent walls and trim, deep charcoal or near-black paint creates a seamless, immersive atmosphere that extends the background of the mural. Alternatively, picking up the muted slate-blue of the vase or a soft, neutral grey-beige derived from the table surface on surrounding walls offers a balanced, lighter environment that lets the vibrant yellow and pink blooms stand out clearly.
