Wallpaper - Eyes Are Watching II

Our Eyes Are Watching II wallpaper brings a surreal, whimsical perspective to the wall, framing a vintage-inspired brown eye within an octagonal trellis and climbing botanical garden scene. Created with Wild Apple Portfolio, this distinctive design layers an ornate golden border around a garden pergola with rose vines set against a clear blue sky, opening into an unexpected central portrait detail. The composition balances classical trompe-l'œil framing with playful, eclectic curiosity. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper texture.

In the room

Because of its strong central focal point and defined octagonal geometry, we see this mural wallpaper working particularly well as a statement feature wall. In a living room, hallway, or dining space, placing it on a main wall gives the composition space to command attention without being interrupted. It also creates a wonderfully eccentric backdrop in a private home office, reading room, or dressing area, where unique character and artistic wit feel right at home.

For wall placement, we suggest positioning the design behind lower furniture, such as a credenza, console table, or sofa, so the intricate trelliswork and central eye remain completely visible. In rooms with generous daylight, the contrast between the sky blue, rose florals, and warm gold framing feels especially crisp and vibrant.

Styling it

When styling around such an expressive design, we recommend letting the wallpaper serve as the main decorative anchor in the room. Pair it with mid-century or vintage-inspired furniture shapes, warm wood pieces, and simple silhouettes that echo the classic architectural feel without competing with the artwork.

To complement the rich framing and garden imagery, introduce subtle antique brass or matte gold hardware, along with textured upholstery in earthy ochre, muted forest green, or dusty rose. Keeping surrounding decorative accessories curated and uncluttered allows the trompe-l'œil quality of the mural to stand out naturally.

Colour combinations

The palette inside our wallpaper pairs a soft sky blue and parchment ground with warm antique gold, sage greens, and delicate rose pinks, centred around the neutral sepia and hazel-brown tones of the eye.

For surrounding walls, woodwork, and larger furnishings, we recommend pulling directly from these accents. A soft warm cream or muted parchment paint on adjacent walls keeps the atmosphere light and cohesive. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, deep olive green or warm golden ochre on trim or cabinetry beautifully grounds the framed border.
