Wallpaper - Leatherbound II

Our Leatherbound II wallpaper, created by Haley Knighten, brings together bold abstract color blocking and expressive, painterly texture. Dominated by deep ochre, warm cognac brown, muted grey, rich dark brown, and off-white shapes anchored by a striking black passage, the large-scale composition creates an earthy, grounded presence on the wall. The visible brushstrokes and soft edges give the motif an organic, painted-looking character rather than a sharp geometric finish. Produced as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers a contemporary focal point designed to sit effortlessly in modern living spaces.

In the room

Because of the generous scale and broad color fields in this design, we see our Leatherbound II wallpaper working especially well on an uninterrupted feature wall in a living room, dining room, or primary bedroom. In a larger living space, placing this wall mural behind a low-profile sofa allows the bold horizontal divisions and vertical off-white blocks to remain visible without being obscured. It also serves as an impactful backdrop across a dining area or a study, where the warm ochre and earthy browns introduce visual warmth. If you have tall ceilings or open wall spans, the balanced proportion of the composition has ample room to breathe.

Styling it

When styling around this wallpaper, we suggest keeping the surrounding furniture relatively streamlined to complement its abstract geometry:

• Choose low-slung seating and tables in darker wood or painted black finishes that pick up on the deep brown and black sections in the artwork.
• Introduce textiles in natural, unbleached linen or textured wool in off-white and soft grey to balance the rich, saturated ochre tones.
• Keep wall decor minimal on adjacent walls, allowing the wallpaper to act as the primary visual focus in the space.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design revolves around warm ochre, dark chocolate brown, muted stone grey, soft cream, and deep black. To build a cohesive room around it, we recommend drawing from the grey or off-white tones for adjacent walls and baseboards. If you prefer a moodier, more enveloping atmosphere, painted accents or trim in deep charcoal or espresso brown will echo the darkest passages of the motif, while neutral stone tones keep the overall setting bright and balanced.
