Wallpaper - Kasumi Garden, Indigo Haze

Created by Marta Cortese, our Kasumi Garden, Indigo Haze wallpaper brings an atmospheric botanical garden scene to life against a muted, slate-blue backdrop. Slender bamboo stalks rise through floating cloud formations, while a lush foreground unfolds with white peonies, irises, delicate daisies, and subtle touches of coral and cornflower blue. The painted-looking texture across the sky adds depth and soft visual movement throughout the mural. Printed as made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design is simple to hang and creates an immersive decorative presence.

In the room

We love this design on a wider, relatively uninterrupted wall where the full height of the bamboo and the layered garden scenery have space to breathe. In a living room or behind a headboard in a bedroom, the composition acts as a scenic landscape that anchors the room naturally. Because the detailed floral elements cluster lower down and transition into open, misty sky higher up, it works remarkably well behind low-profile furniture like sofas, sideboards, or platform beds without losing its narrative character. In a dining area, it creates an enveloping, elegant atmosphere that feels refined both in natural daylight and under softer evening lighting.

Styling it

When styling around Kasumi Garden, we like keeping the larger furniture pieces simple to let the intricate botanicals take center stage. Low-profile seating and clean architectural silhouettes prevent the space from feeling cluttered while complementing the vertical rhythm of the bamboo stalks.

Natural, warmer wood tones such as ash or mid-toned walnut sit comfortably against the cool indigo background, bringing gentle warmth to the scheme. For surrounding accents, matte stoneware ceramics, low-sheen metal finishes like blackened steel or aged bronze, and smooth, plain fabrics create a balanced contrast against the dense floral details.

Colour combinations

The foundation of our mural wallpaper is built on muted indigo, slate blue, and misty grey, accented with crisp off-white, leafy sage greens, and delicate pops of coral red and iris blue.

For adjacent walls and painted millwork, soft stone grey or a muted off-white provides a fresh, clean transition that lets the wallpaper remain the focal point. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, drawing out the deeper slate blue or a dark charcoal grey for trim, doors, or built-in cabinetry creates a tailored, cohesive look. Muted blush, warm putty, or washed blue tones in cushions, throws, or upholstered pieces will naturally echo the floral highlights within the design.
