About the design
In this design, Irina Chikati explores abstract form through overlapping patches of cool pastel colour and textural brushwork. What we particularly like about the motif is the sense of gentle movement across the wall. Broad, softly curved planes of mint and powder blue sit alongside deeper slate-blue marks and sweeping strokes, giving the impression of layered paper cutouts and translucent watercolour glazes.
The visual scale is generous yet airy. Because the forms vary in size, from sweeping backdrop shapes to smaller floating brush marks, the eye moves easily across the entire repeat.
